Hello Funky players,
2 months ago i started a topic about tips and tricks for getting a 107 in Arcade....alot of good replys were entered there.
For me it didnt result in a desired maximum there. A 104 as a max break with a 100 in a ranked game.
Got bored with the straight shooting there and went to Reg and Orig. Mostly Reg at the moment.
Anybody here for some good advice for getting a 147 there.
Smashing the pack as soon as possible or just when needed?
Staying on side of the table (upper or lower part considering a straight line through blue/pink/black?
Taking difficult reds first or clear the easy ones in the black area?

If somebody else has issues please mention.......

Cheers

Get a big table as this helps precision

uhh for the colours, just practice them, and what ever you feel comfortable with you go for

what i did on the smashing the pack bit was a class break and potted lol but id break the pack controlled, not just hit and hope

And just play, play, play, you can never get too much practice..

for the reds easy/hard shots, id take the easy ones and get into a good position to cannon the hard ones into an easier potting position

Hope this helps

Dom

i try and break into pack early as possible, mainly go low on black and play with touch of top/backspin to break them open.

also check here for more ideas:

The line up practice only helps if you are struggling with basic pots/basic positioning.

IMO, if you are going to hit high breaks constantly, you need to have very good cue ball control and be very good a delicate cannons. So practice your cannons, it all comes from position.

Thanks all for your input.
So its all about the good cannons on the pack of reds and positional play......if i focus too much on that part my potting goes less.....thats the result of not being one of the best players here......
Cue power is also crucial i think.
What do you prefer to screw back the cue ball?
Less power and hitting the cue ball very low or bit more towards centre with more power?

Whats the opinion of break builders like Destiny, Facup, Baxter, Chiz and Baff?

Keep up the good work.

Up.
I played Dame a couple of days ago......when i saw him building a break....the biggest difference with my style of playing is the cue power. He used much more then i usually do....the result of my soft shots (with or without strong top or backspin) is that i get often "touching balls" with the reds or colors.....
Beneath that his potting skills were also better.......

In arcade the master of handling cue power is in my opinion Al (quick_pot)...tight spaces there but he manages it often very good there....

Practice cue power will improve my break building capacities alot i guess......

One day i just practised middle bags, and blues into every pocket all day long. And since ive hit over 30 cents, a 147 in reg, and hundreds of halfs.

Just practise is all

thanks for the reply arpeggi....
Unfortunately i dont have the time to practice.....
Im happy to be able to play some frames in the evening.....

offtopic: most people here are much younger then me i think.....from 14-mid 20's.....still at school and plenty of time to play here......

Couple of old men like me.....who like to get a century every frame, but simply dont have the skills.....

Yeah middle pockets are key which a lot of people struggle with on here. If you can pot the black off it's spot into the middle fairly often, you have them sussed.

Black in middle pockets? Seem very tricky shots to me.....if i get out of pos and need black i go for yellow or green corner......more distance but angles are far easier.......
I cant remember ever having potted black in the middle bags........
