I have decided to give it a bit of a change this season, if it isn't working well by mid season we can always change back, but the few people I have spoke to about this so far have been quite happy with the new layout.

Next season for the Prediction League I want to scrap the points system, I want to introduce a monetary system with odds instead. Obviously it won't be real money, will be a bit like when there was "betting" for the world tour event.

How it would work...

Anyone who enters (at any stage of the season) will be allocated 10 funky money per week, to be placed on a prediction just like we do now, however I will use a website to determine the odds of that bet.

For example 10 fm on 4/1 returns you your 40 winning and 10 stake equalling 50FM.

Obviously I wouldn't want to be responsible for turning anyone towards gambling and this is meant as just for, so to see just how much you can lose I will be allowing your balance to go into negative amounts. Everyone who enters will be given a set balance of 100FM and for every 10FM you spend it comes out of your balance, if you win your winnings are added to your balance.

Hopefully most of us end on negative amounts showing how bad gambling is, but we all still have a laugh anyway.

Depending on what stage you enter the league will depend on your balance, if you enter first week 100FM second 90Fm 3rd 80 fm All the way to 11th week or later when the balance will be 0.

Once you hit 0 you will still be allocated 10FM per week but any losses will make your balance go into negative amounts.

Predictions will be set out as follows, subject to change...

You are to predict at least 1 accumulator and at the most 2 accumulators, of at least 5 teams in each and must use up the whole of your 10FM.

You are to predict the first goal scorer and correct score of at least 1 game and at the most 3 out of this weeks games. You must use up the whole of your 10FM"

There will be other predictions obviously but those are just two that sprung to my head.

I will use the same website every week to collect the odds of the prediction given by each person. It does make it a bit more work but hopefully will stop a few people fluking points. (probably bet365 or betfred)

The winner of the event will receive £10 paid by me for yourselves to buy premium with, obviously you don't have to buy premium but that is the idea.

There will be a maximum allocation per week that you can bet. That amount will be 10FM, so the only way to win it on the last prediction alone would to do a crazy 5000/1 or something.

You can't use your winnings as betting money that all goes towards your grand total.

I agree it gives me more work to do but all in all not much more than now to be fair, and it stops people just guessing and getting lucky as most times now they will think about it.

I wouldn't need to keep messages as all will be posted on the thread, already sorted that with the mods/admin when asked if the idea would be suitable and they agreed. Putting a simple minus 10 or plus 375(or whatever the winnings are) on someones balance on the website is just as easy as putting plus 12 where their points are.

You will only be able to use 10FM each week and you must use it all.

Important notice!!!!

Should I not post a prediction by 00:01 on the Thursday before the weekend games the prediction will automatically be to predict 3 Away and 2 Home teams to win from the Premier League. This making sure that there will be a prediction at least every weekend.

In the event of Premier League games not being on or only a select few, then you can choose from Championship/L1/L2 or whichever Cup games are on that week.

Anyone is free to join and the more the merrier, I hope this goes well as a lot of effort has been out into it.

What you will predict...

You will predict the final scores of at least 2 games, maximum of 5 games. The maximum stake per game will be 5 FM, the minimum stake per game will be 1 FM, I will allow half stakes also for example 2.5 FM. All 10 of your FM must be used.

Once you have predicted I will post you the odds on your games then you sit back relax and have a bit of fun!

Right this is just an example so not the real odds, but if Liverpool would win 1-0 like my prediction suggests I would recieve 15 FM (funkymoney) back.

If Norwich were to win 6-0 as stated then the winnings would be 41 FM

All of the winnings go towards your grand total for the season. Whoever finishes on a higher total will win the prize at the end.

the fact I had regular players of this league such as Derry and Mooney drop out told me enough that it wasn't working and was too much about luck, hopefully this will make it fairer.

I will tell people the odds with plenty of time before the games, obviously if you are gonna post right on deadline then you run the risk of not being able to change to better your odds.
