Happy Friday to everyone! I've just uploaded funkysnooker for Android smart phones and it's available at: http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.funkysnooker

The game currently has snooker and carom, practice mode only. It is free and without adverts.

The control system has changed significantly compared to funkysnooker (see below for instructions).

Extra features will initially be available using Google play purchases. These will be competitively priced compared to other apps.

And the same applies from my post on funkypool:
http://www.funkypool.com/thread/19056/funkypool-available-on-android-phones

over on funkypool I said:
Lastly apologies for my lack of input on the forum while working on this project, it's been fun, but very time consuming!

Instructions for Funkysnooker Android App
1. Touch to place the cue ball (same as on here)
2. Touch to aim.
3. Either:
- refine by moving the aim marker
- slide the cue marker towards the shot to shoot (same as on here, the faster the harder the shot)
4. Repeat!

Spinning is available. Where you press down on the cue ball marker chooses your spin!

Anyway, have fun! And please give me any feedback

I've tried the app nick, not a bad start at all. I like the aiming, that's really precise. Just a couple of suggestions,
It's tricky to know how hard you're hitting the white.
Is there spin? I couldn't figure it out if so.
All in all though, great start. Keep the updates coming.

Mark.

EDIT:
Forgot to mention, Been using my Nexus 4. Wasn't any lag or delays. Smoooooth.

Thanks.

Yes, you can spin, the position you press down on the cue marker defines your spin.

There isn't really space for a power meter, the white ball should travel at the same speed your finger strokes the path - so try to imagine that. I tried to copy the effects on here and some imitation to real life.

I have got a android tablet and i think its a good idea.

I would like to see it on iphone aswell, can you do this Nick?

I think the aiming is good but it does take a while to aim some shots up, i think faster aiming is needed as im getting bored of lining them up and the power control is poor with a meter or not. sorry but i think this is one of the worst snooker games i have played on a tablet.

I just see it as a hit and hope game and screw the positional play. When i first opened up the table i thought wow, looks good, then played it and was disappointed.

funkysnooker is a great snooker site but the android app needs a lot of improvement.Put it this way, i'm glad it was free.

Very impressed Nic, I just potted one from extremly easy to use.

Also very accurate aswel, usually you don't get the precision like that on alot of these types of games.

I understand why you can't fit a power bar onto the the table as of limited space, but couldn't you be able put in on across the top rail only needs to be a small one

Other than that very smooth, also in true form very small to download aswel.

Keep up the hard work Nick

Good app but cant screw back when white ball is next to a cushion. Reason for this is you cant see all of the cue marker. Needs a bit of work me thinks.

Pretty good start, trying to control what spin you use is tricky and the power is a little dodgy. Pockets are still buckets though :P

Today, I've updated both funkypool and snooker today to improve performance, fix bugs and to include other languages. This version contains Chinese (simplified) language, Slovak (because I was living there and it provided a technically simple language to integrate), as well as English.

I think this version (0.3) will be stable, but I will keep an eye on any reported errors as stability is very important to me. Assuming things are fine I'm looking to add some new features.

Just noticed. yellow and green on wrng spts.

Fixed now Android vertically mirrors the game compared to on the website so the code needed to allow for this.

A new version with a in-game tutorial has gone online today. There's also a lot of bugfixes including optimising for smaller phones (a lot of crashes were reported on older devices).

This also allows further games to be added... so keep your eye out over the next few weeks!

As Adam rightfully says. We need all members to 5 star rate the app even if you don't like it. Get a comment in there telling everyone about this site and how you enjoy it. Maybe that way it can attract new users and more challenges.
