For a long time people have said the game misses the old players like ste_efc etc, but is that true ? and is a new funky era finally making its way through

i_am_blessed - now top in arcade max list
scotty2hottie, sean, whirlwind have all broken into the top 10 arcade ranking
i_am_blessed, _nerdzz_ imran, davey, thegame all broken into the reg max list
m_wood - broke whocares8x8 top spot in power record and took 1st place
and spordiac is now 1st in original rank

All these things kind of plant seeds that maybe 2013 is the best year of funky thats been seen for a few years by pushing new players to take the record books and put themselves up there with the legends and we still have 4 months left.

I think ste would get battered in arc by Tyler now.

Only one good 'old' all rounder and in my opinion the best player this game has ever seen and thats damee

I think you've picked out your stats a bit here. For example, if you take a look at ALL of the highest ranks tables, you'll find the "old" players on top (apparently I'm being counted as old )

Tyler was a top player when I started playing in 09 so I think calling him new is pushing it a little bit, unsure on his exact starting date . Also think Destiny might object to not being a top 'old' all rounder .

I've said it before and I've said it again, the number of maxes/cents/halfs someone hits tells you nothing really, the ratio of frames per maxes tells you a lot more. 100 maxes in 1000 frames is a lot better than 200 maxes in 10000 frames. But you also then have to remember that these days there are a lot more people resetting so most of the stats are incomparable anyway .

Also depends whether you count a good player as someone who wins a lot of frames, or someone who plays technically good snooker. The example I always go to for this is in original, Damien is technically the best snooker player however Seb is by far the best match player. Give Seb two chances and he will win both frames with an 80 break and a 115 break (for example), given Damien two chances and he will mess up playing a complicated positional shot once and hit a 147 in the other. Obviously this is just an example but it demonstrates what I mean about different types of 'good' player.

Imagine if Seb and Damien had a baby.... It would be a Funkysnooker cyborg

Yep he was Bolger and other names in The Untouchables. I think those from 2010 are fairly few, 2008 fairly old, 2006 or under is quite ancient

so would i be counted in the old generation or the new generation ?

id say Older Generation as you was here when All Starz started a few years ago, plus in Hustlers, however not Ancient like me, damien, fastboysam etc

The good old days when we only had Original and Arcade, no fancy ball shine graphics, no ball potting animations and where you could get maximum spin from minimal power!

7-8 years! Jesus, and for all of you that were wondering when i started it was may 2009 on my first account mufc_4_life, so its been just over 4 years, the graphics were pretty shocking when i first started also but i miss them and all the old untouchable lot,
