Stephen Lee has been banned for 12 years for fixing 7 matches.

Speaking as someone who has met him 5 times, played him at play offs and speak on facebook I have no sympathy for him really.

You do it you deserve a ban, no room for that snooker, 12 years i s the right ban.

His career is over at 50 which is when he can return.

All i will say here is that don't forget the John Higgins saga and don't judge a book by the press.

If he really did do it then he shouldn't be allowed to return in my opinion as its not like he needed the money or anything. Its just unsportsmanship and he will have let down a lot of his fans.

Good riddance. Effectively a life ban as he won't be coming back at 50.

With Higgins was different though, that was News of the World scum trying to make some money by ruining a player's career

True but you get the idea, potentially they could have done the same to Lee or anyone else and they wouldn't notice.

As i said though if he did do it then he deserves a life time ban from the sport.

Not liked he needed the money, had been playing for 20+ years and only ever won 5 ranking events, may have been six. That may be some wad of cash but in a 20+ year period it wouldn't be. He didn't even take a barrister to court, that is saying something...

Good riddance i say as well, never liked him as a player at all and as far as i was aware he was supposed to be a right <wont say that word> (See i can be a good lad)

Now just to weed out the other cheaters in the game

Ive seen the shots he allegedly "meant to miss"and apart from 1 blue..he didnt leave Ryan day any shot..If hes innocent i hope he sues the hell out of the guys. If he is guilty then deserves everything he gets..Personally i think hes innocent

Does this mean we can get whocares8x8 banned for cheating

I would think using aim-bot should merit a 20 year ban at least

Who's with me

Stephen Lee said on facebook that you cant slate Higgins as it was another matter, Higgins was set up anyway.

Lee is a 4 letter word ive met him 5 or 6 times, but hes also a nice chap around the table.

Hes guilty though.

bit of a silly boy really not having legal representation at the hearing. however, with 70k is debts, it's not surprising what some folk will do is these situations. lets see what comes of his appeal.

John Higgins was never found guilty of match fixing - No evidence of him ever match fixing, just giving the impression that he was going to match fix.

From what I've heard, two substantial sums of money (I think 40k & 50k) were deposited into his or his wife's account that corresponded to two of the match fixing incidents.

Still think a lot of others do it, disappointed he didn't get a lifetime ban!

I would indeed ban him permanently, despite the fact there's no guarantee that he was losing deliberately. Stephen Lee was pleaded guilty, yet he argues he was innocent so there's no certainty he was losing on purpose. But for such a greedy purpose (money in this case), why give him a ban that's nowhere near forever? Stephen Lee does not deserve a chance to come back, irrespective of his age. Sportsmanship and greed don't go together.

Winners never cheat and cheaters never win - and if you've cheated, you're out of luck.
