when the cue ball is tight agast the cusion you should not be able to screw back as in real life you would not be able to get to the bottom of the cue ball, the same goes for when tight up agast a ball and you cueing over it you should only be able to hit top half of the cue ball

As Aled said it's been brought up a lot haha.
I don't think that would make the game more realistic though, as in real life you can raise the butt of your cue when the cueball is (nearly) tight to the cushion, and then still screw back (when you have a good cue action, unlike me lol).
So technically, if funky implements what you suggested, they'd have to implement that too. And in the end it wouldnt make much of a difference, as everyone's cue action on funky is flawless lol

has to be a 3D table to do this.

Why? As long as the calculations are done in 3 dimensions and there is an option for cue butt height, as in many other 2D billiard games, it can stay just as it is graphically.

The formulas are already partially there to deal with spin and screw.

"As long as the calculations are done in 3 dimensions", This is a 2D game and it has to take angling into account as some parts you may be able to apply backspin but others can't (only top half) so depending on angle, spin has to disappear where it can't be hit and too much work sadly and nick isn't around to do them anyway

Keep it simple like the last 10+ years

Sorry, none of that made any sense. It's just like real snooker, played in two dimensions but the physics work in three. Wouldn't be too hard to add and completely optional so no need to alter the simplicity in any way

At this point in time i think we should be less concerned with the look/feel of the game and concentrate on increasing the number of players actually playing the game

If anyone has any ideas/inputs on how we can do this we are more than happy to listen

Currently mulling over a few things to help with this

Crack to it gents

Simple. Stop people from creating rooms but not playing, and have more tournaments to reduce those who cheat by selecting opponents. That will lead to a more genuine, fair, ranking system therefore encouraging more players.

real snooker is 3D, like Fly or Die.

No, its all played on a horizontal surface, will all movements along x and y axes (as jump shots are illegal in snooker the z axis is irrelevant)

How on earth it compares to an admittedly fairly good album is beyond me.

What about the compatibility updates on 12th Jan? Someone is updating the site, those things don't just happen

Also notice he is active on the facebook thing, after all he need not log in to his thing here to do updates.

You can still jump on Snooker and Swerve, that's on a 3D Table.

On Pool last update was 22nd Sep 2013, Not checking Snooker but it is a long time without an update and barely seen Nick for 2-3 years.

Also at one point no one heard from him in nearly a year and i heard Admin even tried to phone him but came back and didn't post to ensure us that he is well and been off for 4 months again.

Hope he's ok

The site was updated on the 12th of January, nothing to do with forum posts, the HTML and Javascript routines were replaced with the new compatibility checks. Nick Hutt, the currently registered owner is active on facebook, not missing, just talk to him youself its not hard!!!

My god the desire to live in some kind of fantasy non-reaity that some people have is mind blowing
