A tournament every second would be 60 tournaments per minute, 60x60=3,600 tournaments a hour 3,600x24=86,400 tournaments a day! Funky would crash haha

four an hour bare maximum i would say but for me as a person, i stopped caring for tournaments since they became ranked and people left

miss the challenge of playing melanie, bgyuk (two rivals to start), seb, arpeggi, chase475, buddytobud () and others, relished that, now it doesn't seem worth playing in them

Had a message asking if they are crap because i didn't include them in my list.

those are Original based players i used to play in tournaments. i put "and others" as clearly more out there i haven't mentioned like dvz and clifton188 for example but when i enjoyed tournaments they wasn't around playing in them so i left them out.

^ My reply to them, those are top players i played back in the day, doesn't mean you are crap, just means top players i played in Original Tournaments at that time at least 6-8 years ago so a lot has changed since then. I would also add count_raven and sarahh now based on current form.

I can't remember everyone so don't take it as an insult if i didn't include you but can't help how i feel. At the moment i haven't got the drive to enter tournaments as normally the entries are "low" and prestige of winning is no longer there

But to the point, you say you still wouldn't enter, and thats the problem. The moment a tournament starts, every player online should automatically be entered, including guests, so there is no choice, and no need for the idiotic ten minute wait.

All tournaments then have maximum entrants and less wasted time.

It also means the ranking points thing will actually have a purpose, for as much as a number on a website can

still may not enter most, Original and Carom i would but thats about it. You talk about 10 minutes to wait but if everyone is entered then you have to wait longer between rounds.

you shouldn't lose rank if you choose not to enter though as forcing someone to do something against their will is illegal.

But more importantly, I think you missed the point I was making, the main problem, apart from the obvious lack of tournaments, is that people have the option not to enter.

Make it so every player online is automatically entered into all tournaments then obviously far more people will play.

A follow up :

As I have been on recess this week I decided to have a go at being a serious addict. I was on four days for almost an hour each time.

I entered every avaliable tournament in that time and I think I got to play about 3-4 games. The lack of tournaments is so frustrating.

But more noteworthy, when I was on on friday, there were 9 arcade games being played and two waiting for opponents, yet I was the only person in a tournament. This shows the necessity for all players online to be entered automatically. If that had happened there would have been at the very least 21 entrants, probably more as people could have been playing other games too.

Surely everyone would like to see tournaments like that.

Just read this hilarious thread, and no on picked up on this bit (from what I saw)

It was a reply to Virtuoso147_, not everyone will be able to play every tournament, yes they can enter as many tournaments, but you can't play 2 games at the same time, so all that's going to happen is exactly what's happening now, you'll get 4 people max in each tournament.

If thaf's the case, the tournament wins won't mean much if anything, because you'll get players looking at the tournament screen, to see who's in what tournament, and to see who is in another tournament, so they get an automatic win (yes, it sounds sad, but it's true)

What we need is more carom tournaments, pop in a micro here and there

The site isn't going to be how it used to be, so it must cater for the majority, in which the current set up suits them
