Hey, I've had San Andreas for a couple of years by now and I think that it is a great game. Possible even the best game ever created for the PS2. However, over the past couple of months, it's been saying "Disk Error : Cannot read GTA San Andreas disk". This is really annoying because you have to restart the whole system and the game is lost.

In some areas of the map, it's even worse for example in country areas. I don't know what's caused it but my brother used several cheats in the past, not sure if this has caused it.

Anyone else with this problem?

I get the error message sometimes when I play and it holds up on the screen but then 10 seconds later it continues with the game. Is very odd.

Put it this way, they are not lying when they say cheats nacker the game.

Cheats don't knacker the game Mike.. I've cheated thousands of times on this and it still works fine.

Is your disc scratched in any way? Is this happening with any other games?

thats weird i got that aswell.

but if you just leave it for afew secs it usually loads again.

cheats do ruin it, they ruin the fun and the game its self, especially if you cheat and then save

Cheats don't ruin the game at all lol. If you buy the game, you play it how you like, cheats or not, it depends how you prefer to play.

I never had a problem like this, and I used to use masses of cheats.

How old is the PS2? My mates used to be so bad with all games, because the system was so old

Cheats don't ruin the game. The only one that ruins San Andreas is the Riot mode cheat, and if only if you save the game with it on. That's because it stops you completing one of the missions. If they ruined the game and stopped it from playing altogether, why would they still be put in by the game designers?

maybe ur san andreas has knackered because it's telling you to buy gta4???

i started playin GTA 4 again last night. its just so bad but.

It's happened to me on GTA Vice City. It loads, says Load Successful and never enters the game. At least the game is never lost... it just doesn't play. Unfortunately... my copy of San Andreas is nowhere to be found...

It isnt cheats thats the problem, its probably a scatched disk.

I had this problem on all of my games, got a new ps2 and then all my games played. shame that my 5 year warranty was up by this point

it has been comfirmed in the past that using cheats and "saving" saving being the key word, can make the software of the game become corrupt especially with rockstar games.
