JimmyPink vs Mosconi

Funky Snooker's Arcade room erupted in jubilation today as Jimmy Pink went of like a Roman Rocket trouncing a rather embarrassed looking Mosconi (Funky Warriors) 2 - 1 and securing an historic first win for the now infamous Lipstick Boys clan.

What according to the books seemed an impossible task for our boy, on baize turned out to be quite an easy win. In an aftermatch interview Jimmy explained:

"I knew Mosconi's weakness was over-confidence and so I let him win the first frame to lure him into a sense of false security... once he thought he was having a stroll around the park, maybe feeding the baby ducks, I pounced and let fly with the heavy artillary"

In the same interview, a dejected looking Mosconi could only hang his head in shame and make a feeble apology to his team captain: "I'm sorry, I was looking at other sites," he said "this will not happen in a proper match."

No doubt the FS gossip mongers will be wondering just what kind of 'other sites' the Funky Warrior could have been referring to - sites which not only seemed to be occupying his head, but his hands too.

Whatever the lurid truth behind Mosconi's poor showing, nothing can take away from the brilliance of Jimmy Pink's performance. Tristram Spencer, Lipstick Boys founding member and team captain, summed it up perfectly: "Turn your back on a Lipstick Boy and you're liable to get your R's whipped!"
