Hi,

I just got myself a Mobile Broadband dongle today. Network is 3.

However, When I use it my laptop crashes while playing snooker or pool. It works fine for about 5 - 10 minutes before the problems start.

I'm sure alot of people on here will have used Mobile Broadband at some point, so if anyone who has had this problem before (or knows how to fix it) could help me I'd be really grateful.

Thanks

I use an O2 dongle and it works fine maybe it is either your network or how good your coverage is?

I use t-mobile when I am away and haven't had any problems.

Perhaps it is a network thing

Don't think it's a network thing. I get a very good signal and can browse the internet with no problems. Just when I was playing pool last night my laptop crashed 3 times in an hour. I have use a BT Hotspot before to play pool and it never crashed during that time.

Sounds like either a java error or explorer error. Try reinstalling java, and try and not have too many applications running. i had a 3 dongle a while back and it would sometimes disconnect but never made my laptop crash

OK, I'll try re-installing a newer version. Is there any versions that have known issues with funky that I should stay away from?

Just received a reply on another forum where I had posted about this problem.

It appears that there is a known conflict between 3Connect (the software on the 3 Dongle) and AVG Antivirus that is causing these crashes. Hopefully by removing AVG the problem should be resolved.
