i have just been in a tournament, i was on the final brown so 22 available, i was over 50 ahead, and the time runs out so we are both knocked out, surely whoever in lead should go through, im gutted worked so hard to get my break.

surely whoever in the lead should progress, who agrees, is there any reason y this is not the case

You would have been warned that time was running out - you should've ended your break. Tough luck i'm afraid!

Its your own fault you didn't finish the break.. The game would have automatically ended since more than 12 points were needed from snookers, and you would still be in the tournament.

You won't do it next time, so consider it a lesson to you. Don't always go for the points, just make sure you get the win.

The reason is that people could lose time on purpose once they get the lead near the timeout limit.
Also, it's not always the player who has the lead, who is the most likely to win the game, for example when the table is well set for the other to clear up.

Don't rub it in ...

As Blutch said, it is to simplistic to say whoever is winning should progress.

yea true, the person in lead could play 4 time so im now in agreement that it is fair, i knew it was last minute and misjudged it,

there should be a 15 second timer that countsdown to give you the chance to miss shot then at the end that way no one can complain

Could you explain what you mean, please?

The way I understood it is that you want common sense programmed into the game. What I mean is, you want the game to tell you to miss your shot, rather than doing it yourself, if you know you're going to be disqualified if you don't miss.

I personally don't see ANY use for this whatsoever. Surely you can tell when you're going to be disqualified? There is a 5, 3, and 1 minute warning after all.

Yet we have a shot clock which ticks down.

Good point Mike - if you really want to carry on your break, use the shot clock as an indicator as to how long you have left.

You couldnt of been 50 ahead. The game automatically ends if the opponent needs more than 12 points from snookers, or the opponent leaves.

If you want to know how long you have left. Get out your stopwatch on your phone and when it says 1 minute clock start. Or as Mike said, use the shot clock timer.

Actually, the game automatically ends when the opponent needs more than 12 points from snookers at the end of your break, not as soon as they need that. Otherwise, century breaks wouldn't be possible in tournaments.

Given time could always add a boolean to the code, that is true if you are past the default win. Then if the time runs out it would put you into the next round.

However i appreciate this is alot of work, that isnt really that necessary or a priority.

we have a ten second countdown or whatever time for everyshot, i dont see any harm in a countdown for end of game and in that situation wen your on a good break and wanna get half it is jus frustratin thats all

i was so engrossed in my break that i hadnt noticed the 1 min warning, i didnt even know how far ahead i was till the game stopped and forfeighted both of us, it was really gutting.

Well firstly there is more than enough time to complete a game, and secondly you just need to pay attetion at the bottom of the screen to see if any warnings come up. If you see one then hurry up and then you know. Everything is in place to stop this happening already just needs a bit more attention when playing.
