mooney 6-3 pilbyjoel

mooney - 129, 119, 111, 79, 72, 67, 55

pilbyjoel - 90, 62, 55

Very good standard! every game had a break over 50+. We had a game pilby was logged out, I was on a break but missed with 4 reds left and score 62-8 - We both agreed to replay that frame as there were enough points left for a comeback.

Good games mate!

Cheers for posting mooney

Good games! Good luck in the rest of it, if you play like you did today, then you have a very good chance of winning.

virt_slayer 6-5 chase475

an epic battle of incompetence fought today at the crucible where two positional masters gave an awful performance with young virty just edging out old man chase.

it began with dominance in the first session by chase who hit 70 and 90 breaks to take the lead but virt held in there finishing the session at 4-2 to chase.

and so the next session started and a flurry of mistakes and poor play infected the match however virt managed a sneaky 62 break in there to pull the game back to 4-4.

and from that point the play improved a little with chase and virt hitting at least 30 when they came to the table chase went 5-4 up but this was soon pegged back by some good safety play from virt to go to 5-5

the decider...

after this edgy encounter the last frame seemed a formality after more decent safety play allowed virt control of the flow of the frame. eventually a chance arose and virt scored a neat 63 break to close the frame and the match

a great comeback by the gent from kent

through to the next round he goes and certainly a favourite of the crowd here in Sheffield with a never say die attitude and the looks of brad pitt

dgen 1-6 peg

here we have michael "precision" Givan versus James "Rotherham Rocket" Penrose.

in frame one the precision took 5 minutes to settle down and the Rotherham Rocket got in early until he missed a cannon by a fraction then the precision cleared with a 57 break.

frame two the Rotherham Rocket made a good break and got in with another 30 break but missed with the reds spread then the precision sailed 2-0 in front with a 57 break.

frame three Rotherham Rocket potted a red and finished awkward on the black and the precision sealed the frame with an 80 break missing 139.

in 4th frame Rotherham Rocket broke off and precision found a red and made an 81 break from it and went 4-0 up at the interval.

fifth frame both was quite bad but was good tactical frame which precision pinched and went 5-0 clear.

sixth frame when it looked all over for the Rotherham Rocket and precision misses a sitter, who can believe that? and whirlwind crawled a frame win.

seventh frame was very tactical with a couple of snookers, the end spelled doom for Rotherham Rocket when he hit a colour and not a red then a poor safety shot sealing the win to the precision who advances to the Quarter Finals!!!
