I was going to write a long description of the match, but I really can't remember the order that anything happened in

You wouldn't think it from the breaks, but the standard of the match wasn't great. I started off poorly, then Seb played poorly and let me back into the match when I found some form. I took the lead, and just about crawled over the line although it could have gone either way with both of us melting several times in the last few frames.

Breaks

me - 59, 71, 78, 90, 104

Seb - 56, 61, 85, 100, 127, 147

Oh, and he made an average max in the second frame

Yeah I came out flying and took a 3-0 lead with 85, 127, 147.
I had control in the 4th and was ahead by 65 in the frame with 4 reds left (pirate needed snookers). So I played it like I always do and tried to pop out the last pack of 2 balls using a pot on the pink. I did and went in-off, which meant 59 ahead with 59 remaining. He cleared, got the shot on the respot and took the frame. Certainly the turning point, because at 4-0 it's looking grim.

Last frame was probably the worst. He's in and misses in the 40's to give me another chance. I play it well until I miss a wide open pink sitter with 1 red left....

Lol yeah, I was worrying about a white wash at one point....

But I still think you were just being greedy Was lucky to get the respot though!

I was probably the worse player in the quarter, semi and finals of this, but managed to win so must be doing something right (or I'm just incredibly fortunate)

In the situation (matchplay, with the frame score being as it was) it wasn't a smart decision. But that's how I play every frame- I always try to open stuck reds when I have a good angle to it.

Ah that's fair enough, just two different styles of play - When's the next one going to start? Because we've been looking for 2 more players for ages lol

Think Seb wants the full 16. If anyone sees a good player who is active ask them if they want to join.

Im the same, I like to open reds from the black (not blue as i tend to foul) but then i miss and leave them an open table when i should pot until i have to go into them
