Didn't we go through the unpredictability in the last thread, where I made a post questioning it as the final was contested by the top teams on the League table most of the time. Point being, I don't think the Cup is that unpredictable as it is.

I'd be interested to hear all the captain's thoughts on my killer suggestion though.

Check your maths woody, 16-7 is 9 normally . And during a season, I suspect maybe 11 or 12 will play in the cup with subs, holidays etc. The other players are most likely specialists in one type. Eg putting fuzzy in a cup tea would be mental, but you would have him in for carom. The counter to this is someone like dgen, who isn't at the top of any one game type but is a good solid player at all 5 which is very valuable in the cup. The job of the captain is to balance a team between these 2 types of player, and to use each player's individual assets. But it shouldnt be the case that everyone has to play both formats, keep the numbers low and make it more about tactical selections and using players cleverly and it makes things much more interesting. Bear in mind most clans don't have a seb/damien who are good at every type AND at the top of the game in several game types. Having that sort of player is a bonus.

Not sure if I commented about it yet-
what I worry about is that people will lose interest after a bit and games won't get played (just like in any other tourney that's not the league itself). But since team killer is loads of fun, might be worth a go?
Do it mooney, you've been itching to run something since you dumped UK vs ROW

its not a bad shout, personally i like the idea of team killer and any variation gets my vote whether its in the league or a side event, lets wait until the friendlies are done then we have a bigger picture

The game against lyle was because seb told you to 0-5 him and you misread it right? .
Seb, Mooney dumping UK v RoW was a great decision, we started winning after that .

Team killer could be great fun, no harm giving it a go...

Agreed. But I don't want to be the main runner of it, so if mooney or dgen or someone else wants to take charge of this, go for it. I'll help, but I don't want to be the main guy.

But without your organisation Seb, any clan killer competition is destined to fail.

lol thanks.
But I run this league, as well as a clan here and a clan on pool... adding this bad boy to it is a bit much.
Maybe we should see how these trials go in the friendlies?

I'll do some kind of trial but not sure when you want it.

Also undecided on the format. If it's straight knockout (clan vs clan) for each round then it can be left to the Captains/Vices to organise the time before hand. However I'm really keen on the 2nd option I said on previous page. (The 4 clan game with like 3 from each clan) Obviously when you have 4 different clans involved and so many players you can't really negotiate a time so it would have to be at a set time. (I'd give each captain a vote on Day, and time, then take the majority..

Then there's the scoring. I'm keen on the points for where you finish in the game then totalling each clan up. But we'll see what the Funky public wants, can it get it's own thread though?

if you 100% plan to go through with it go ahead

pre friendlies finish on 13th i think then take a few days off to discuss and do draws for main league

Will wait for friendlies to conclude, so can see how the killer does there.

This is why I think the rule should be brought in wot they have on pool. Anyone that wants to start a clan must have a season experiance before there aloud to make one.

Moved this from Vikings thread.

There are new clans being made and run by people who have no clue wot they are doing which then effects other clans because getting games played against them can be difficult.
Also causes other issues.

agree with this only thing is it might lower chance of more clans as most clans only take top players so maybe someone could run a recruitment league of some sort?

what do people think of killer then, moons has offered to run a separate killer league

I like the killer part of the league. But separate I don't think it would work as people wouldn't always play I think.

Yes it might lower the chance of new clans being made but at the same time its going to stop people making them who have no idea what they are doing at all. Would you rather have all reliable clans who can play their games without much problems or have a few more new clans who have no scooby on what to do.
